10/30/16 First Read Through of Em 'n' Nam

I am thrilled to be in the rehearsal room for my new play Em 'n' Nam. It will be read at 2:00PM on the 5th of November.

Just finished a reading at Chicago Dramatists of my new play "The Play that Used to Be Titled '1247 Likes' decided to go Dancing in a Cemetery: a play with it's own agency" commissioned by Theatre Emory. What a blast I had working with such great artists.

06/11/16 I fly out to Atlanta for Theater Emory's 4:48

Inspired by Paula Vogel’s playwriting Bake-Off process, 4:48 is a creative sprint to the finish. Four playwrights lock themselves away for two days of furious writing, at the end of which they’ll have four brand new plays all based around the same source material, all incorporating 5 shared story elements.

The Drama Bookshop and the National Theatre Bookshop in London is going to stock American Beauty Shop in tandem with the production at Chicago Dramatists. I wonder if I I could shoot a Craig's List add out there and see if someone in London could film going into the bookshop and seeing it on the SHELF!

I am so pleased to have my first Equity production at my artistic home.

7/28/15 Princess Grace Finalist,  "Johnny 10 Beers' Daughter"

Dear Dana:

On behalf of the Princess Grace Foundation-USA, we thank you for submitting your play, Johnny 10 Beers' Daughter, for consideration in the 2015 Princess Grace Playwriting Fellowship competition.  We appreciate the time you took to apply for the Award, and applaud your work.

Unfortunately, at this time you were not chosen to receive a 2015 Princess Grace Award.  However, you should take pride in knowing that of the 358 playwriting applications received from artists nationwide, your play advanced to the Final round, which included only 16 plays!  The panel strongly recommends that you reapply in the future.

Thank you again for your interest in the Princess Grace Awards.  We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
